PHYSICIAN SERVICES

FMRS Health Systems, Inc. is dedicated to enhancing the emotional and behavioral health of the residents of southern West Virginia through advocacy, community involvement and provision of the highest quality diagnostic and professional treatment services.

The medical team at FMRS includes nurses, physician assistants and psychiatrists who provide services designed to meet the needs of children and adults experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental or substance abuse problems.  The team provides psychiatric evaluation and assessment and pharmacological management.  They work closely with the psychologists, clinicians, care coordinators and service coordinators to provide comprehensive, quality treatment.

Detailed psychiatric evaluations are provided to consumers who present with symptoms of substance abuse or mental health disorders, and follow-up care is provided according to consumer need.  Every effort is made to access psychiatric services promptly, often as the consumer initiates services at the agency.

In addition to outpatient clinic services, the physicians provide daily assessment and follow-up at the Crisis Stabilization Unit, where an individual may be referred if their symptoms require short term monitoring, medication adjustment and interventions such as supportive counseling provided in a warm, supportive, safe environment.

Psychiatric staff members also have admitting privileges at local area hospitals, should a consumer be in crisis or demonstrate symptoms that indicate a need for inpatient care.

FMRS also has a unique ability to provide telemedicine in rural areas which have difficulty accessing psychiatric services.

CHILDREN'S SERVICES

FMRS has a full complement of nurses, physician assistants and psychiatrists to evaluate, diagnose and treat children and adolescents who demonstrate mood disorders, ADHD and other behavioral and mental health disorders that indicate intervention, including pharmacological management.  FMRS is unique in its ability to provide services led by a board certified child psychiatrist.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS

FMRS accepts most insurance plans including Champus, Medicare, Medicaid and CHIPS.  We also have a sliding fee scale.
